Featured VA Interview

Each month, one of the most active and leading members of the International Virtual Assistants Association (IVAA) is showcased on the IVAA web site as the "Featured VA".

Each virtual assistant that is selected is interviewed about their practice, their policies on running their business, tips that they can give to other VAs, and other information that gives some insight into their business and/or personal philosophy.

Following are excerpts from the interview with Silent Partners Virtual Assistance Group owner, Ann Clubb, who was the "Featured VA" during July, 2000.

Excerpts from "Featured VA " Interview

Business Name

Silent Partners Virtual Assistance Group

Location

Flower Mound, TX
How did you get into the VA Business field?

I had a friend who started doing virtual assisting, and it sounded like what I had been looking for. I grew up in a family owned business, and I always identified more with being in charge of my own destiny. After being in the corporate environment for quite a while, I decided that becoming a VA was the perfect answer.

What is your specialty or niche?

I offer most VA services, but I love desktop publishing. It seems that graphics and I were made for each other. No matter what a piece of clip art looks like, I always want to change it and add my own personal touch. Being a perfectionist, nothing leaves my office until it is what I consider "just right".

What is your best advice to other VAs and/or motto that you do business by?

I have lived my whole life by the axiom: "Anything worth doing is worth doing well." Needless to say, this applies not only to my business life, but my personal life also. I don't have any patience with a job that is half done, or done in a sloppy fashion, and I certainly don't expect my clients to accept inferior work. I am a professional, and I take pride in my work.

Anything else you would like to add?

  • Be honest and trustworthy.
  • Treat others the way you want to be treated.
  • Things can be replaced - people can't.
